| CU HockeyThe Big Red finished its regular hockey season with an amazing 4-point
weekend with its wins over Quinnipiac and Princeton. Last night's game
against Princeton was rockin' as Bryon Bitz, Ray Sawada and Mark
McCutcheon each scored two goals. The game ended with a score of 8-4,
a pretty high scoring game of hockey! After the Tiger's defeat, a
recognition ceremony was held for the Red's seven graduating seniors!
It was a sentinmental farewell to some of my favorite players on the
ice: Mark McCutcheon, Mitch Carefoot and of course, our uber captain,
Bryon Bitz!
Last night, late in the third period, Bitz made a pretty hilarious shot on goal when his stick broke into two as he was handling the puck down the
ice. As he neared the net, without an intact stick, he attempted to
shoot at the princeton goalie with his skate!
*sigh. I am definitely going to
miss watching these games as part of my weekend endeavors! :)
Our win against Quinnipiac moved us into a third-place tie in the ECAC
standings and helped solidify at least a home series in the first round
of the ECACHL playoffs . THIS means, fans of the Big Red shall not be
sad, for we will get to crowd in Lynah
one more time!
Happy Hockey Memories!
Many thanks to Angelika, Xiao and Oat, who helped sneak me into the "B"etter section this season! :)
